Self-taught photographer and sumi ink painter, Ryo had always felt that too many people in Japan glorify foreign cultures but neglect their own. Looking at this situation, he created Tokyo Party Night, his blog site “to introduce the real culture in Tokyo to the world, and also to Japan itself.” While attracting media interest to his activities and winning several photography awards, Ryo has participated in 150+ night club parties to take snapshots of people having a good time which he then uploads to his website. He joined MWJ because of the mutual goal to enliven Japanese culture.
